I promised to post the details on the 2014 litter for February this year, but Moneypenny took her sweet time to be getting in heat. She was expected to start her next heat at the end of February, but she just now started to show first signs of an approaching heat. So here is the announcement…
“Domino vom Tempelgarten” X “Windchim’s Moneypenny”
About the breeding pair
Moneypenny is fawn with black brindle and black mask. Penny, as we call her, has a very feminine appearance and always behaves like a lady. She is very smart and was very easy to potty-train when she was young. Although Penny isn’t blue, she comes from a long line of blue Whippets and carries the gene for this popular but rare color. Moneypenny comforms the international (FCI) as well as US (AKC) breed requirements. Penny showed us in 2013 what a great mother she is! She took excellent care of her litter. Penny is a great family dog and excellent with kids of all ages. She is sensitive, obedient and incredibly affectionate.
Domino was imported from Europe in 2011 and is a red brindle with white. His markings are beautiful and his coat is incredibly soft. Domino conforms the international (FCI) as well as the American (AKC) standard. He is a very devoted and obedient dog, and a great dad since he usually takes care of the puppies while Moneypenny gets a break. Domino is very athletic and brings a nice European touch into our litters, since his frame better represents the original Whippet with it’s more petit and elegant appearance. Domino is a blue gene carrier.
Both dogs passed their health check with flying colors, got vaccinated and are ready for the mating. Both dogs are AKC (US) as well as FCI (Europe) registered.
About our 2014 litter
In order to comply with new standards, regulations and laws we had to make a few changes in regards to pricing, shipping and visitation of the puppies. If you are interested in one of our puppies, please read the following information to it’s entirety.
Things that have changed since 2013:
- we kept our price at $750 for a puppy, which is at the lower end of what you usually pay for a Whippet. That way we can make those amazing dogs available for families who are looking for companion dogs only, without the intentions to breed.
- there will be an additional color fee for “blue” puppies
- the down payment to reserve a puppy has been lowered
- detailed explanation on when the rest of the money is due (.. there are really people trying to back out 2 days before the puppy was supposed to ship out..)
The price for a puppy of this litter is $750.
There will be an additional fee of $200 for the following colors and markings:
- solid blue (no matter the amount of dilution)
- white with blue
- blue brindle
- white with blue brindle
- fawn or white with blue mask
What does the price include
- up to date on shots
- AKC limited registration, or unlimited registration with requirement to spay/neuter the puppy (please contact us if you wish to inquire about an unlimited registration without spaying/neutering)
A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility and Earthdog.
- leash & collar
- health certificate
- buyers contract
We don’t mind if you stop by and take a look at the litter, as soon as they are 2 weeks old. If you let me know which time you will be here, I will have freshly brewed coffee ready! Please know that you will have to remove your shoes upon entry of our home, as well as you will have to disinfect your hands.
If you want to reserve one of our puppies, we need a down payment of 200$. The rest of the purchase price has to be paid 2 weeks prior to pick-up/shipping. We do not “hold” puppies. Since the down-payment is non-refundable and a commitment to purchase, please be 100% sure that you are not going to change your mind about which puppy you want. If you are unsure, just give it a couple more days or weeks, observe how their coats are changing and their overall appearance. You can always contact us and we will be more than happy to help you making the right choice for you and your family!
We accept debit/credit card payment, paypal as well as cash. Credit and debit card payments are going to be processed through a certified security server.
The puppy has to be at least 8 weeks of age before he or she goes to the new home. If a puppy seems to need a few more days with us, you will have to wait. The health of the puppies is always our biggest concern, we hope you can understand and accept that. Your puppy can be picked up at our home.
We have a lot experience in shipping our puppies all over the US. We know that a lot of people are concerned about “shipping a live animal”, but let me assure you that all our puppies always got to their destination without issues. Some puppies had to travel as far as to the west coast, and they were happy and healthy once their new owners welcomed them.
If you wish to have your puppy shipped, the fee will be $290 which includes the airline approved flight kennel with food bowls. We do not rent kennels from the airline, so the kennel is yours to keep. We will ship the puppy to the closest available airport on the fastest route and connections. Our puppies fly with DELTA AIRLINES.
Last but not least I want to say a few words about puppy SCAMS and online puppy buying…
I understand that buying a puppy online is a scary endeavor for most of you, especially if you have never done it before. Unfortunately, the Whippet can be a rare find here in the United States and there are almost always a whole bunch of miles between you and the puppy of your choice. Scams on the internet have people pay down payments for puppies who never arrive, or probably don’t even exist. I want to assure you that we are not a scam. We are real and so are our puppies.
It is important to us that you know WHO WE are, just as we want to know WHO YOU are. In 2013 I therefore started to keep this blog constantly updated on the litter and the individual puppies. This blog will provide you with hundreds of pictures, videos, funny stories and important information about our litter. And I already mentioned earlier that visitors are always welcome, and I don’t mind long conversations on the phone if it helps you to feel confident with your decision on a purchase.
Wow… this was one long post! I promise that updates will follow as soon as the mating is done, and we can give you an estimated arrival date of our little ones!
